Job Description

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of relevant experience in radio-teletype operations, sworn law enforcement, dispatching, forestry, firefighting or other public contact work
- valid Class E driver license
- ability to travel occasionally for training
- pass background screening including fingerprinting
- no use of Artificial Intelligence tools for qualifying questions or interviews
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- one year of experience in radio-teletype operations, sworn law enforcement, dispatching, forestry, firefighting or other public contact work
- college education may substitute for experience at the rate of 30 semester or 45 quarter hours
- valid Class E driver license
- knowledge of computer systems including radios, telephones and incident tracking software
- ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment
- good communication skills
- ability to read and understand maps and geographic information systems
Job Duties
- Dispatch crews to wildfires, smoke complaints and other incidents
- approve or deny burn authorizations and maintain related records
- conduct on-site inspections, compliance checks and provide landowner assistance
- maintain paper and electronic files, prepare reports and assist supervisory personnel
- receive and handle or transfer incoming telephone calls
- gather and relay fire weather information and forecasts
- perform other related work as assigned
