Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work overtime and participate in weekend on-call rotations
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to type 35 or more words per minute
- Ability to manage high-volume email and phone interactions
- Strong attention to detail
- Tech-savvy
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in freight forwarding or logistics operations preferred
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to type 35 or more words per minute
- Experience working in high-volume, demanding work environments
- Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn transportation management systems
- Strong multitasking and attention to detail skills
- Customer service experience beneficial
Job Duties
- Tracking and tracing outbound shipments
- Inspecting outbound freight
- Contracting new carriers as needed and assigning carriers
- Providing load tenders
- Communicating freight status and any problems to other stations and customers
- Updating transportation management systems
- Providing customer service
- Working overtime and weekends on call rotations
- Data entry of shipment details into the transportation management system
- Quoting, costing, and invoicing international shipments, air, ocean, and ground
- Routing domestic air and ground shipments including Canada
- Negotiating freight rates
- Developing collaborative carrier relationships
- Finding and developing new logistics and freight opportunities
- Designing carrier solutions for internal offices and external customers
