Job Qualifications
- 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or customer-facing role, ideally in transportation (LTL experience preferred)
- Strong problem-solving skills, especially in time-sensitive situations
- Proven ability to manage and motivate a team to meet performance goals
- Excellent communication and customer service abilities
- Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- AS400 experience is a bonus
- Highly organized, with the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively
Job Duties
- Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers, and office staff in alignment with OHFL culture and company policies
- Supervise and support P&D and linehaul operations to ensure freight moves efficiently and on schedule
- Dispatch drivers for pickups and deliveries, optimize routes, and verify accurate documentation
- Manage payroll functions, including reviewing and approving timecards
- Oversee outbound dock operations, ensuring freight is loaded, staged, and handled properly
- Enforce safety protocols, operational procedures, and compliance standards
- Conduct monthly driver safety meetings and support training initiatives
- Deliver proactive customer service by addressing inquiries, scheduling freight pickups, and resolving shipment delays or misroutes
- Monitor operational metrics to identify and implement efficiency improvements
- Manage team performance, including accountability, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
- Utilize OHFL systems to maintain data accuracy, resolve operational issues, and ensure smooth workflows
- Cover various shifts as needed to ensure consistent operational support
