Job Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in a supervisory or customer-facing role, ideally in transportation (LTL experience preferred)
  • Strong problem-solving skills, especially in time-sensitive situations
  • Proven ability to manage and motivate a team to meet performance goals
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • AS400 experience is a bonus
  • Highly organized, with the ability to balance multiple priorities effectively

Job Duties

  • Provide leadership to drivers, dock workers, and office staff in alignment with OHFL culture and company policies
  • Supervise and support P&D and linehaul operations to ensure freight moves efficiently and on schedule
  • Dispatch drivers for pickups and deliveries, optimize routes, and verify accurate documentation
  • Manage payroll functions, including reviewing and approving timecards
  • Oversee outbound dock operations, ensuring freight is loaded, staged, and handled properly
  • Enforce safety protocols, operational procedures, and compliance standards
  • Conduct monthly driver safety meetings and support training initiatives
  • Deliver proactive customer service by addressing inquiries, scheduling freight pickups, and resolving shipment delays or misroutes
  • Monitor operational metrics to identify and implement efficiency improvements
  • Manage team performance, including accountability, coaching, and disciplinary actions as needed
  • Utilize OHFL systems to maintain data accuracy, resolve operational issues, and ensure smooth workflows
  • Cover various shifts as needed to ensure consistent operational support
