Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum four years related experience
- Minimum one year supervisory experience
- Working knowledge of ITAR, Import Brokerage, Export Compliance, Hazmat Regulations
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-specific software
- Ability to analyze problems and implement solutions
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Flexible schedule including outside normal business hours
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Minimum four years related experience
- Minimum one year supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance or related field preferred
- Three years industry experience preferred
- Working knowledge of ITAR, Import Brokerage, Export Compliance, Hazmat Regulations, and recordkeeping
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and job-specific software
- Strong problem analysis and solution implementation skills
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
- Excellent ability to read and interpret business and regulatory documents
Job Duties
- Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times
- Provide responsible supervision and control for all departmental activities
- Assist in the retention and training efforts of staff and customers
- Conduct meetings with staff to assess group’s status, discuss ideas for improvement, and share new developments
- Address employee performance issues promptly in accordance with personnel policies
- Oversee performance statistics and review shipment documentation for accuracy and compliance
- Communicate with customs officials to obtain release of freight and resolve delays
- Establish, monitor, and revise customs clearance policies and procedures
- Identify concerns in import and export processes through audits and performance monitoring
- Communicate with operations manager about progress and issues
- Maintain flexible work schedule including outside normal hours and on-call duties
- Participate in or supervise department projects related to logistics and customs operations
