Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum four years related experience
  • Minimum one year supervisory experience
  • Preferred bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance or related field
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, Import Brokerage, Export Compliance, Hazmat Regulations, and recordkeeping
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office and relevant software
  • Ability to allocate work assignments effectively
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule including outside normal hours and on-call rotation

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum four years of related experience
  • Minimum one year of supervisory experience
  • Bachelor's degree in International Business, Logistics or Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance or related discipline preferred
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, Import Brokerage, Export Compliance, Hazmat Regulations and recordkeeping
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job-specific software applications
  • Ability to allocate work assignments
  • Proven experience in problem analysis and implementing solutions
  • Ability to interpret business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations
  • Strong written communication skills

Job Duties

  • Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times
  • Provide responsible supervision and control for all departmental activities, including staff retention, training, and conducting team meetings
  • Oversee performance statistics and review shipment documentation for regulatory compliance
  • Compute duties, tariffs, price conversions, weight, and volume of merchandise for imports and exports
  • Communicate with customs officials to obtain freight release and resolve shipment delays
  • Establish, monitor, and revise policies and procedures for customs clearance operations
  • Identify areas of concern in clients' import and export processes through performance monitoring and audits
  • Communicate with operations manager regarding progress and issues
  • Maintain flexible work schedule including after hours on-call rotation
  • Participate in and/or supervise department projects related to area of responsibility
