Job Requirements

  • Possession of a high school diploma or GED
  • valid driver’s license
  • management experience in waste industry, recycling programs, transportation, production, logistics operations or related field
  • knowledge of employee training, supervision, and evaluation principles
  • understanding of supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting

  • bachelor’s degree preferred
  • management experience in waste industry, recycling programs, transportation, production, logistics operations or related field
  • valid driver’s license
  • knowledge of employee training, supervision, and evaluation principles
  • understanding of supervisory techniques, resource allocation, planning and budgeting

Job Duties

  • Assigns employees to routes and special pickups for timely services
  • assigns employees to balance workload
  • arranges alternate coverage of service in case of employee absence or equipment failure
  • ensures the accountability of route completions
  • analyzes routes and implements routing changes
  • monitors work to ensure efficient operations
  • enforces safety policies and procedures
  • resolves customer service problems and responds to complaints
  • investigates and resolves customer inquiries
  • recommends and makes rate adjustments
  • generates and analyzes operational reports
  • advises management on delinquent accounts and assists in collections
  • performs pre-and post-trip inspections
  • investigates and reports on worker injuries and accidents
  • maintains time records and manages attendance issues
  • drives trucks as needed
  • ensures compliance with policies and collective bargaining agreements
  • may dispatch or be back-up dispatcher
  • participates in community and business meetings
  • performs other assigned duties
