Job Requirements

  • Pass a background check and drug screen
  • Possess a valid driver’s license
  • Be able to obtain a TWIC card
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to coach and mentor employees
  • Knowledge of customer service principles
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing work conditions
  • Experience with heavy equipment or port terminal operations is a plus

Job Duties

  • Schedule and direct subordinate(s) in inspection, service, fueling, and shuttling/dispatch of terminal tractors and trailers
  • Manage problems which arise in these areas
  • Interpret and administer company policies, standard operating procedures, and safety regulations
  • Analyze and resolve work problems or assist subordinate(s) in problem resolution
  • Manage shift response to leased equipment breakdowns
  • Investigate and report all incidents and accidents involving company property or persons
  • Maintain records of work hours, supplies utilized, and work performed
  • Prepare reports as needed
  • Develop and maintain relationships with customers and other agencies, communicating in a professional manner and resolving service issues and any disputes
  • Perform all duties of supervised employees as needed
  • Comply with company/agency policy/procedures and maintain a clean and safe work environment
  • Wear required personal protective equipment during the performance of job duties
  • Use strong communication and organizational skills to coordinate, supervise, manage, or train others
  • Identify developmental needs of employees and provide coaching, mentoring, or help to improve skills
  • Adapt to rapidly changing work conditions and adjust work activities to meet changing demand for equipment/services
  • Maintain customer service quality and keep cool-headed in crises
