Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent
  • Previous experience working in an event set-up or related field preferred
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedules and produce accurate results in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines
  • Remain flexible and adjust to situations as they occur
  • Professional appearance and attitude
  • Working knowledge of hand tools
  • Forklift certification a plus
  • Requires ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays, in addition to normal business hours
  • Ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Ability to understand and communicate clearly with clients and colleagues

Job Duties

  • Set up and take down flooring, portable chairs, operable walls, barricades, staging, tables, and other equipment for the successful execution of events
  • Operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scrubbing machines, extractors, or other light power-driven equipment
  • Perform facility cleaning and janitorial tasks including cleaning and stocking restrooms, sweeping, mopping, dusting, trash removal, vacuuming, spot cleaning, washing, stripping, carpet cleaning, window washing, and waxing as needed
  • Perform deep cleaning, extraction, and stain and gum removal on carpets during and after event hours or as required
  • Provide debris removal and other general labor activities
  • Maintain and repair event equipment
  • Transport equipment to and from offsite storage as necessary
  • Perform general maintenance and janitorial duties as needed
  • Assist clients and facility visitors as needed
  • Attend and participate in planning, training, and staff meetings
  • Participate in safety programs to achieve safety goals
  • Assist with various department and organizational projects and special assignments as needed
  • Report to work when scheduled, on time, in proper and clean uniform, including name tag
  • Maintain safe, secure, and sanitary working conditions
  • Ensure proper facility preparations for event requirements as requested
  • Perform other assigned duties as required
