Job Requirements

  • High school degree or equivalent
  • Minimum 4 years of related functional experience
  • At least 3 years of managerial or supervisory experience in warehouse or distribution center management
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with associates and customers
  • Strong time management and organizational skills
  • Independent decision-making and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in financial planning and execution
  • Ability to lead process improvements and change initiatives
  • Commitment to ownership and responsibility with a sense of urgency
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Regular and predictable attendance
  • Willingness to travel and work required schedules
  • Successful completion of background investigation and drug screening

Job Qualifications

  • 4 - 6 years related functional experience
  • 3+ years managerial or supervisory experience in warehouse or distribution center management
  • High School degree or equivalent required
  • Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint
  • Ability to build rapport and relationships with associates and customers at all levels
  • Strong time management and organizational skills with follow-up and follow-through
  • Ability to make independent decisions and problem solve
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and execute financial operating plans
  • Experience in driving process improvement and leading change
  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to present information confidently and actively listen
  • Regular, predictable attendance
  • Willingness to travel as necessary

Job Duties

  • Establish and sustain training and competency among supervisors and associates to align with customer business objectives
  • Recruit, hire, train, develop and retain quality associates
  • Establish and sustain two-way communication that informs, motivates and recognizes excellence
  • Build strong relationships with associates, customers and supporting departments
  • Meet or exceed all customer key performance metrics and objectives
  • Interact daily with local customers to address existing and emerging needs
  • Lead the team in identifying operational improvements such as inventory accuracy and warehouse operations
  • Collaborate with other Penske sites to share best practices and leverage resources
  • Develop and execute the annual financial and operating plan
  • Manage the operation to meet or exceed business plan targets
  • Identify and resolve issues with operating metrics and financials
  • Ensure accurate preparation of customer billing, payroll, payables, and intercompany charges
  • Lead and promote a culture of safety through personal example
  • Develop continuous improvement plans to reduce accidents and injuries
  • Ensure associates understand their roles in maintaining a safe workplace
  • Identify and correct unsafe conditions, work processes and behaviors
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory agencies and company policies
  • Coach employees through safety observations
  • Identify and pursue continuous improvement opportunities and challenge the status quo
  • Track and record value delivered to customers
  • Seek profitable business opportunities for customers and Penske
  • Monitor and maximize customer efficiencies to achieve cost savings
  • Improve fleet utilization, maintenance availability and fuel efficiency
  • Contribute to equipment specification and renewals
  • Build strong working relationships with local PTL district and equipment vendors
  • Perform other projects and tasks as assigned
