Job Requirements
- Master’s degree preferred or bachelor's degree in related fields
- minimum three years’ mid-management or supervisory experience in recreation or related sectors
- two or more years’ experience in community recreation or hospitality programs
- valid State of Florida driver’s license with good record
- annual hands-only CPR training or able to obtain within six months
- ability to pass Florida Care Provider Background Screening Clearinghouse
- strong organizational and leadership skills
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- proficiency in managing budgets and facility operations
- experience overseeing food and beverage and retail operations
- demonstrated ability in event planning and program development
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in parks/recreation administration, public administration, hospitality, event planning, marketing, sports management or related field
- three years of mid-management or supervisory experience in recreation, non-profit management, event management, or hospitality
- two or more years of additional experience in community recreation or hospitality program management
- strong leadership and communication skills
- expertise in facility operations and event coordination
- knowledge of budgeting, financial oversight and program development
- proficiency in customer service and staff management
- ability to develop and maintain community partnerships
- experience with marketing and public relations
- proficiency in data analysis and strategic planning
- familiarity with legal and safety regulations related to recreation facilities
- ability to innovate and improve operational efficiency
Job Duties
- Manage day-to-day operations of tennis and pickleball facilities
- supervise full and part-time staff, volunteers and contractors
- oversee scheduling, leagues, lessons, clinics, tournaments and special events
- manage food and beverage services and catering operations
- control pro shop retail functions including inventory, merchandising and sales
- develop and implement revenue-generating programs
- manage budgets, monitor financial performance and ensure fiscal responsibility
- maintain facility safety, cleanliness and compliance with applicable laws and regulations
- foster positive working relationships with staff, community, businesses and partner organizations
- research grants and funding opportunities
- plan and execute marketing and communication strategies
- participate in department and city-wide management initiatives
- respond to emergencies and resolve issues promptly
- prepare and present council agenda items as directed
- continuously improve programs and services to meet community needs
- act as Manager of Duty when required
- perform related duties as assigned
