Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in retail or 2+ years managerial role in complex environment
  • Experience collaborating with managers in multi-department/zone settings
  • Proven financial management and profit/loss responsibility
  • Effective decision-making and operational problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to increase sales and profitability through operational improvements
  • Conflict management skills and ability to hold others accountable
  • Ability to recruit, assess, train, develop and promote partners
  • Willingness to work flexible hours including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Ability to carry 35 pounds consistently

Job Qualifications

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible retail experience or 2+ years in a managerial role in a complex environment
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a multi-department/zone environment
  • Experience in financial management and profit and loss responsibility
  • Effective decision-making and operational problem-solving skills
  • Ability to increase sales and profitability through operational improvements
  • Strong conflict management and accountability skills
  • Ability to recruit, assess, train, develop, and promote partners
  • Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • 21+ years of age
  • Ability to carry 35 pounds consistently
  • College degree or related field may substitute for required experience
  • Leadership experience in high-volume, full-service restaurant concepts
  • Experience with lifestyle experiential brands, hospitality, or specialty retail preferred
  • Experience building relationships with customers, partners, and community
  • Additional language skills beneficial

Job Duties

  • Lead a team of hourly partners to deliver world-class customer and partner experiences
  • Demonstrate calm demeanor and manage smooth transitions during high volume periods
  • Train and hold partners accountable for exceptional customer service
  • Manage with integrity, honesty, and promote Starbucks culture and values
  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities to ensure positive attitude and collaborative teamwork
  • Drive and support implementation of company programs and initiatives
  • Set clear expectations and delegate responsibilities within the store or zone
  • Develop relationships in the retail market and stay abreast of industry trends
  • Review store environment and business indicators to identify improvement opportunities and provide coaching
  • Direct and improve store and zone operations to meet operational excellence goals
  • Plan and execute strategies to increase sales and control costs
  • Collaborate with peer managers and partner teams on initiatives
  • Use operational tools and processes to achieve excellence
  • Proactively identify and solve problems, coaching partners to do the same
  • Manage retail business fundamentals including sales trends, inventory, and promotions
  • Ensure adherence to wage and hour laws and service alcohol regulations
  • Conduct performance assessments and provide coaching to hourly partners
  • Develop and maintain positive, inclusive partner relationships
  • Recruit, train, and schedule partners according to labor laws and business needs
  • Recognize individual and team accomplishments
  • Utilize effective management principles to maintain a successful store team
