Job Requirements

  • 5-7 years of progressively responsible experience in retail
  • or 2+ years in a managerial role in a complex environment
  • Experience working collaboratively with other managers in multi-department environments
  • Proven financial management and profit and loss responsibility
  • Effective decision-making and operational problem-solving skills
  • Ability to increase store sales and profitability through operational improvements
  • Skills in managing conflict, leading teams and holding others accountable
  • Ability to recruit, assess, train, develop and promote partners
  • Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Ability to carry 35 pounds consistently

Job Qualifications

  • Flexible availability including early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays
  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Ability to carry 35 pounds consistently
  • College degree or closely related field may substitute experience
  • Leadership experience in high volume, full service restaurant or retail
  • Experience with lifestyle based experiential brands, hospitality or specialty retail preferred
  • Experience building relationships with customers, partners, and local market leaders
  • Additional language skills beneficial

Job Duties

  • Lead a team of hourly partners to deliver world class customer and partner experiences
  • Demonstrate calm demeanor during high volume or unusual events and manage smooth transitions
  • Train and hold partners accountable for exceptional customer service
  • Manage with integrity and promote Starbucks culture, values and mission
  • Identify and communicate key responsibilities to ensure positive attitude and collaborative teamwork
  • Drive and support implementation of company programs and procedures
  • Set clear expectations, delegate and communicate responsibilities to ensure smooth flow of operations
  • Develop strategic and operational plans for the work group and manage execution
  • Direct and continuously improve store and zone operations to meet company objectives
  • Identify and execute areas for improvement to ensure exceptional customer service
  • Plan and manage sales growth strategies while controlling operational costs
  • Collaborate with peer management teams to implement initiatives
  • Use operational tools, systems, and processes to achieve excellence
  • Proactively identify problems and coach partners to solve challenges
  • Manage retail business fundamentals including sales trends and inventory
  • Participate in cross-functional teams to increase profitability
  • Ensure adherence to wage and hour laws and alcohol service regulations
  • Conduct performance assessments and provide coaching to partners
  • Recruit, train and schedule partners according to zone needs and labor laws
  • Recognize and reinforce individual and team accomplishments
  • Maintain positive and inclusive culture and relationships within the team
