Job Qualifications
- Minimum two years of experience in event management especially in public events, festivals, or community programming
- At least two years of experience in program development and execution
- Proven experience supervising and managing staff including hiring, training, and coaching
- Demonstrated leadership skills with a hands-on approach to operations and problem-solving
- Strong organizational skills capable of managing multiple projects simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively with various internal and external partners
- Flexibility and adaptability to work in a fast-paced public environment
- Strong customer service orientation
- Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
Job Duties
- Manage and oversee all event operations including onsite management and staff coordination
- Support the General Manager of Public Events with operational and administrative tasks
- Lead program development and execution for public events and community programming
- Hire, train, coach, and manage event staff including initiating disciplinary action when necessary
- Collaborate with internal departments, external vendors, and stakeholders to ensure event requirements are met
- Coordinate logistics for events including setup, execution, and breakdown
- Work flexible hours including evenings and weekends to meet event demands
