Job Requirements

  • Must have experience in transportation operations management
  • prior dispatch and dock experience required
  • ability to lead and develop teams effectively
  • availability for shift Monday-Friday 5pm-3am including weekends and nights
  • willingness to work 50 hours per week average
  • capacity to work in all weather conditions
  • capability to work under tight deadlines
  • excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • high aptitude for technology
  • associate or bachelor’s degree preferred but not required

Job Qualifications

  • Experience managing a team
  • thorough knowledge of LTL trucking industry
  • prior management experience in dispatch and dock operations
  • strong leadership including hiring, coaching, counseling and mentoring skills
  • excellent communication skills
  • technology proficiency
  • ability to multitask and detail oriented
  • willingness to work flexible hours
  • ability to work under high pressure with multiple priorities
  • associate or bachelor’s degree preferred

Job Duties

  • Oversee dock operations for designated terminal section
  • manage loading processes and forklift traffic
  • supervise proper picking and sortation of palletized freight
  • ensure proper load distribution by monitoring cube and weight of trailers
  • provide leadership and accountability to drivers and dock workers
  • monitor dock production to meet or exceed KPI goals
  • maintain safe work environment in compliance with DOT and OSHA standards
  • ensure company operational model compliance
  • support culture of excellence in product quality to customers
