Job Requirements
- A minimum of a high school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Bachelor's degree (B.A.) accredited or equivalent professional experience in lieu of degree
- 3 years’ operations management experience
- Ability to effectively communicate both in written and oral form
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other Dawn people
- Training or background in problem solving and conflict resolution

Job Duties
- Manages the overall activities of the distribution center including directing, advising, and managing direct and indirect subordinates to ensure strong team member and team performance
- Participates in hiring, promotion, discipline, and discharge decisions of team members within scope of responsibility
- Collaborates with Human Resources on hiring rates, adjustments to team member rates of pay/position status, and necessary disciplinary actions to ensure adherence to company policy
- Plans and directs the work of subordinates, including the appointment of work among Team Members, and provides training as necessary
- Inspects warehouse facilities and equipment and recommends changes in allocation of space and shipping procedures
- Manages the procurement and maintenance of material handling equipment such as dollies, floor jacks, lift trucks, tractors, and trailers
- Oversees pickup and delivery schedules for truck drivers
- Answers inquiries on types of service offered, rates, schedules, and areas serviced
- Investigates customers' complaints involving damaged items, driver performance, and shipment delays and makes necessary adjustments
- Examines items to be moved to ascertain approximate weights and types of shipping required
- Ensures proper sanitation practices to maintain appropriate IFS standards
- Responsible for creating and maintaining a safe working environment and takes appropriate measures to ensure product quality and food safety
- Manages P&L responsibilities including managing expenses in the warehouse and delivery department and assists DML in the operating budget process
- Ensures facility adherence to company policy and procedures in daily warehouse and delivery activities to comply with employee and DOT laws
- Oversees all hiring and training of people in the warehouse and delivery aspects of the business
- Carries out leadership responsibilities in accordance with Dawn’s culture and positively reinforces actions of others
