Job Requirements

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Previous supervisory roles
  • Proficiency in Windows and company-approved spreadsheet and word processing software
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to listen and address concerns of employees and guests
  • Capacity to multitask and prioritize departmental functions
  • Consistent attendance per Highgate Hotel Standards
  • Maintenance of high standards of personal appearance including wearing nametags
  • Compliance with hotel safety and operational policies
  • Problem-solving skills including anticipating and resolving issues
  • Ability to understand and analyze complex information
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Physical ability to work long hours and lift up to 20 pounds occasionally

Job Qualifications

  • At least 5 years of progressive experience in a hotel or related field
  • Previous supervisory responsibilities
  • Proficient in Windows, spreadsheets, and word processing

Job Duties

  • Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times
  • Effectively communicate both verbally and in writing with employees and guests
  • Listen to and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests
  • Multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines
  • Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings
  • Maximize productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions
  • Handle guest special requests, complaints, disturbances, and emergencies
  • Perform all front desk duties including check-ins and checkouts
  • Manage night audit functions and prepare reports
  • Train new employees and develop training programs
  • Supervise line-level associates and coordinate with multiple departments
  • Schedule and manage payroll functions
  • Ensure cleanliness and operational standards in lobby and food & beverage areas
  • Operate hotel computer systems and manage PBX console
  • Monitor VIP guests and special requests
  • Enforce hotel policies and credit procedures
  • Participate in hotel enrichment and room inspection programs
