Job Requirements

  • Hotel management experience required
  • Ability to stand, walk, and sit for extended periods
  • Ability to read and visually verify information including small print and computer screens
  • Ability to grasp, turn and manipulate objects requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination
  • Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull and place objects less than 25 pounds without assistance
  • Professional demeanor and clean appearance
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Must be able to perform job duties as requested by the General Manager

Job Qualifications

  • Hospitality management experience required
  • Hospitality degree preferred
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven ability to handle guest complaints and service recovery
  • Knowledge of hotel operations and standard operating procedures
  • Ability to understand and manage budgets including P&L statements
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic goals
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
  • Professional demeanor with a warm and welcoming personality
  • Ability to lead by example and motivate others
  • Availability to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays

Job Duties

  • Assist the General Manager in all aspects of hotel operations, day-to-day staff management, and guests
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, policies, procedures, and service standards
  • Handling guest complaints and overseeing service recovery process
  • Assist in managing budget and ensure revenue and guest satisfaction goals are met
  • Be part of developing short, and long-term strategic goals for performance improvement
  • Understand the P&L statement
  • Meet all report deadlines daily, weekly, and at month end
  • Work closely with the department managers and General Manager to maximize room yield and hotel revenue
  • Oversee and manage all departments and work closely with department heads daily
  • Maintain great communication between the different departments and the General Manager
  • Be responsible for occupational health, fire, and life safety
  • Strive to improve service performance
  • Maintain a friendly, cheerful, and courteous demeanor at all times
  • Utilize interpersonal and communication skills to lead, influence and encourage others, leading by example
  • Encourage and build mutual trust, respect, and cooperation among team members
  • Serve as a role model to demonstrate appropriate behaviors
  • Communicate clear and consistent message regarding processes throughout all departments
  • Develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize, standards and meeting the expectations of customers on a daily basis
  • Daily support the different departments in their daily operations
  • Identify the developmental needs of others and coaching, mentoring, or otherwise helping others to improve their knowledge and skills
