Job Requirements

  • Must have Nevada Food Handler Safety Card
  • must pass 20yr FBI fingerprint-based Criminal History Records Check
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • associates degree preferred
  • 2 plus years supervisory experience preferred
  • strong leadership skills required
  • ability to train others required
  • excellent time management skills required
  • strong organizational and communication skills required
  • basic computer skills required
  • ability to obtain ServSafe Certification required

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • associates degree preferred
  • 2 plus years of supervisory experience in high volume, manufacturing, food production, restaurant or catering environment preferred
  • strong and effective leadership skills
  • ability to successfully manage a staff of 30 plus hourly employees
  • labor relations experience a plus but not required
  • ability to drive positive program change
  • ability to train others
  • ability to give negative and positive feedback daily
  • excellent time management skills
  • strong organizational, analytical, communication and leadership skills
  • innovative with ability to improve work environment and unit performance
  • basic computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • ability to obtain ServSafe Certification

Job Duties

  • Ensures that all Corporate, customer, Federal, State and local policies and procedures are followed
  • supervises and supports lower management/supervisors on daily operations
  • responsible for coordinating flight delivery assignments and ensuring kitchen departure times are met
  • works with maintenance staff to ensure preventive maintenance of machinery according to schedules and reports issues timely
  • conducts inventory of Gate Gourmet products and customer materials to minimize waste
  • prepares and plans against end of the month projections in partnership with Food Manager and General Manager
  • prepares management reports such as attendance, HACCP, and labor reports
  • effectively interfaces and coordinates between customers and employees
  • manages work flow balancing and division of responsibilities among employees on each shift
  • manages daily manpower planning including assignment of responsibilities and workstations
  • determines when to call employees in to cover staffing needs like sick calls and vacation relief
  • ensures compliance with company Wage & Hour policy including rest and meal breaks
  • trains and monitors employees on proper work procedures to ensure productivity
  • responsible for employee retention and reducing turnover
  • coaches, counsels and prepares corrective actions for employees in compliance with union agreements
  • reviews and ensures employees are in correct cost centers and job titles
  • reviews and ensures union represented employees’ pay rates are correct
  • ensures employees complete required training including ServSafe and company policies
