Job Requirements

  • High school equivalent education
  • At least six months of maintenance related work experience
  • Basic computer skills including email and Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Pass a pre-hire drug screen and random alcohol and drug testing
  • Pass federal fingerprint based criminal history background check
  • Available for recall during non-duty hours for emergencies, snow removal or other duties
  • Ability to operate airport equipment safely and independently
  • Ability to communicate via two-way radio

Job Qualifications

  • High school equivalent education
  • At least six months of maintenance related work experience including equipment operation, concrete, building maintenance, construction, and/or lawn care
  • Basic computer operations experience including strong knowledge of email, word processing, and spreadsheet applications
  • Ability to use two-way radio equipment and safely operate airfield equipment
  • Ability to represent the Airport Authority in customer service
  • Experience in routine maintenance tasks
  • Ability to perform assigned tasks independently

Job Duties

  • Conducts daily and special inspections of all facilities for safety, security, aesthetics and regulatory compliance and reports findings to the Operations Coordinator I and takes corrective action when able or generates maintenance requests
  • Maintains a daily shift log detailing all routine, non-routine and important happenings occurring anywhere on airport property
  • Monitors day to day construction activities and escorts contractor crews when necessary and ensures highest level of safety for work crews and aircraft
  • Administers Wildlife Management Program
  • Compiles incident reports to be submitted to the Operations Coordinator I
  • Assists Airport Maintenance Department with facility repairs and grounds maintenance, when necessary
  • Conducts regular vehicle/equipment preventative maintenance inspections and reports finding to the Operations Coordinator I
  • Performs janitorial duties, as necessary
  • Drives a tractor for mowing and snow removal
  • Uses a radio to communicate with aircraft
  • Fuels aircraft, maintains fuel farm, conducts fuel quality controls and accepts fuel deliveries
  • Performs other aircraft servicing functions as necessary including towing, marshalling, transient space assignments
  • Daily policing and enforcement of Standard Operating Procedures, Operations Manual, Airport rules and regulations, all applicable Federal Aviation Regulations, and Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan
  • Coordinates with coworkers in management of assigned projects including inspection review and maintenance assignments
  • Advises Operations Coordinator I of conditions requiring issuance of Notices To Airmen
  • Provides high level customer service and assistance
  • Fields complaints and assists with youth and community programs
  • Monitors access control program
  • Handles monies collected from fuel/product sales
  • Assists with hangar inspections and employee training
  • Performs other duties as assigned
