The Health Care District of Palm Beach County is an independent special taxing district that has been a vital healthcare safety net for over 36 years, addressing gaps in healthcare access throughout the entire county. Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Monitors, answers, interprets, prioritizes, and dispatches from emergency calls and local hospitals
- computes fuel requirements for flights based on aircraft type, flight distance, weather, and regulatory minimums
- analyzes weather data to determine safe and cost-effective flight routes
- prepares comprehensive flight plans including weight calculations, weather reports, NOTAMS, and risk assessments
- reviews flight information including aircraft inspection status and maintenance logs
- collaborates with maintenance and operations directors regarding aircraft readiness
- validates suitability of crew and aircraft for departures
- finalizes flight plans with the Pilot in Command and shares joint flight release responsibilities
- exercises safety and operational control responsibilities with the Pilot in Command
- prepares and signs dispatch releases authorizing flights
- delays or cancels flights under unsafe conditions
- monitors flight progress and provides real-time updates
- evaluates weather changes and flight plan alternatives
- responds to accidents/incidents by initiating notifications and documentation
- assists in maintaining the Flight Control Center operations
- utilizes software systems for duty assignments
- works with multidisciplinary teams for patient transport excellence
- responds to hospital transport requests
- practices appropriate radio communication
- communicates shift changes with crew
- maintains positive relationships with stakeholders
- applies FAA flight dispatch practices to ground ambulance control
- keeps flight and weather records in compliance with regulations
- works rotating 12-hour shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- performs emergency duties including disaster responses
