Job Requirements

  • Master's degree or a bachelor's degree with two years of appropriate experience
  • Experience with Workday HCM preferred
  • Prior experience in higher education preferred
  • Strong organizational and communication skills
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. with occasional after-hours
  • Ability to provide detailed budget reports and manage financial records
  • Capable of handling HR tasks including recruiting, onboarding, and visa paperwork
  • Proven ability to coordinate events and support research labs
  • Commitment to teamwork and cross-training

Job Qualifications

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution in an appropriate area of specialization and two years of relevant experience
  • Experience with Workday HCM preferred
  • Prior experience in a higher education setting preferred

Job Duties

  • Perform budget reports and track account balances
  • Assist Associate Director/Director of Research Programs with budget amendments, costing allocation changes, and accounting adjustments
  • Provide administrative support to Associate Director/Director of Research Programs, Executive Director, and Institute team
  • Submit expense reports, spend authorizations, and requisitions for purchases
  • Answer phone calls, schedule meetings, and attend to guests, students, office, and lab issues
  • Maintain proper records of important documents
  • Support research lab facilities including managing orders, repairs, and equipment inventory
  • Perform HR functions including submitting job requisitions, recruiting assistance, onboarding, processing student stipends, and visa application paperwork
  • Cross-train and serve as backup to Office Administrator or other team members
  • Organize and facilitate unit events, informational sessions, and faculty meetings including event planning, coordination, budget management, and post-event assessments
  • Assist with research programs, grant tracking, and attend research trainings as needed
  • Process student assignments each semester
  • Provide requested reports
  • Enter tuition waivers for students according to policy
  • Collaborate with Communications Coordinator to maintain website functionality and promote department events
