Job Requirements
- Treat all information as confidential
- Possess tact to deal with all levels of situations, client representatives, employees and the public
- Ability to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift
- Willingness and ability to work in extreme climatic conditions including heat, cold, high winds, rain, ice and snow
- Ability to handle non-routine situations including flight delays, weather and mechanical problems, and passenger assistance
- Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
- Ability to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
- Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
- Ability to verbally direct in English
- Must be a citizen or have necessary authorization from INS
- Ability to resolve problem situations with passengers when necessary
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Airline or contracted airline services experience preferably ticket agent, gate agent, or ops
- Mathematical problem-solving skills
- Verbal and written communication skills
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Must have a telephone
- Must have reliable telephone and transportation
Job Duties
- Utilize the airline system to plan flight weight and balance including determining the number of passengers that may safely be boarded given anticipated and actual weight and balance calculations
- Oversee gate functions and pre-board/boarding process ensuring on-time departure
- Perform duties of subordinate employees when necessary
- Monitor employee activity and make adjustments as needed
- Ensure employees follow all regulations and procedures
- Communicate effectively with fellow employees, client representatives, and passengers
- Report safety hazards and equipment problems to management
