Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a telephone
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Must be a citizen of the United States or possess necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service
  • Must be able to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
  • Must be able to verbally direct in English
  • Must be willing and able to work in a variety of climatic conditions including extreme heat and cold, rain, ice, and snow
  • Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift
  • Must treat all information as confidential
  • Must possess tact to deal with all levels of situations and people
  • Must be able to resolve problem situations with passengers when necessary

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in airline or contracted airline services, preferably as ticket agent, gate agent, or operations agent
  • Strong mathematical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to treat confidential information with discretion
  • Tactful and courteous in dealing with clients, employees, and the public
  • Ability to sit, stand, lift, and bend throughout shift
  • Willingness to work in various weather conditions
  • Ability to handle routine and non-routine operational situations
  • Must meet requirements to obtain security sensitive identification badge
  • Ability to read, understand, and verbally communicate in English
  • Must be at least 18 years of age

Job Duties

  • Utilize airline system to plan flight weight and balance including passenger boarding limits
  • Oversee gate functions and manage pre-board and boarding processes to ensure on-time departures
  • Perform all duties of subordinate employees when necessary
  • Monitor employee activity and enforce adherence to regulations and procedures
  • Communicate effectively with employees, client representatives, and passengers
  • Report safety hazards and equipment issues to management
  • Maintain training records and report major incidents
  • Respond courteously to inquiries from clients, staff, and passengers
  • Maintain cleanliness of work area and report maintenance needs
  • Project a positive image representing the company
  • Attend meetings and in-services
  • Maintain records and reports as required
  • Ensure company and client equipment and resources are used cost-effectively
  • Perform quality assurance service audits to meet client specifications
  • Implement and support the Safety Management System and safety plans for the station
  • Maintain oversight of operational and safety issues and provide corrective actions
  • Actively participate in safety management initiatives
  • Perform other duties as assigned
