Job Requirements

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must have a telephone
  • Must have reliable telephone and transportation
  • Must pass pre-employment and random drug tests
  • Must meet necessary requirements to obtain a security sensitive identification badge
  • Must be a citizen of the United States or possess necessary authorization from the Immigration and Naturalization Service
  • Must be able to sit, stand, lift, and/or bend throughout shift
  • Must be willing and able to work in a variety of climatic conditions including extreme heat and cold
  • Must be able to resolve problem situations with passengers when necessary
  • Must be able to read, understand and carry out instructions in English
  • Must be able to verbally direct in English

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience in airline or contracted airline services preferably as ticket agent, gate agent, or operations agent
  • Strong mathematical problem-solving skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to treat information as confidential
  • Tactful and professional in dealing with clients, employees, and the public
  • Ability to work in a variety of climatic conditions including extreme heat and cold
  • Ability to cope with non-routine situations such as flight delays and passenger accommodations
  • Ability to read, understand, and carry out instructions in English
  • Ability to verbally direct in English
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Job Duties

  • Utilize the airline system to plan flight weight and balance including determining the number of passengers that may safely be boarded
  • Oversee gate functions and manage pre-boarding and boarding processes ensuring on-time departures
  • Monitor employee activity and make adjustments as needed
  • Ensure compliance with all company, client, and government regulations and procedures
  • Handle inquiries and resolve problem situations with passengers courteously and tactfully
  • Communicate effectively with fellow employees, client representatives, and passengers
  • Participate actively in the Safety Management System and perform quality assurance service audits as required
