Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant field
  • minimum 6 years of related experience or master’s degree with equivalent experience
  • proficiency in project management and research techniques
  • ability to create plans, estimate costs, and manage risks
  • strong skills in data collection, analysis, and technical writing
  • excellent communication skills
  • ability to work with partially defined requirements in a dynamic environment
  • must be able to work outdoors in all seasons
  • able to lift up to 25 lbs
  • comfortable with data visualization techniques
  • ability to lead collaborative teams
  • proficiency with MS Office tools
  • willingness to travel 10-25%
  • US citizenship not required

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in operations research, computer science, engineering, business, mathematics, information systems, or management science
  • minimum of 6 years of applicable experience
  • master’s degree in engineering, computer science, analytics, or mathematics can replace 3 years of experience
  • skills in project management, research techniques, planning, cost estimation, risk management, logistics, data collection and analysis, technical writing, and presenting formal/technical information
  • proficiency with MS Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • ability to explain complex technical material to diverse audiences
  • demonstrated ability to lead and provide technical direction to multidisciplinary teams
  • understanding of JMP preferred
  • experience with business process analysis or data manipulation preferred

Job Duties

  • Conducts quantitative analysis using operations research tools, economics, and other quantitative techniques in the areas of procedural implementations and performance issues
  • assists in the definition of machine learning and data mining strategies
  • creates, deploys, maintains and refines decision management models
  • specializes in modeling and simulation functions or operations such as exercises, plans, coordination, demonstrations, and instruction in health, environmental, transportation, law enforcement, and security fields for military and civilian agencies
  • analyzes research data to characterize system performance and identify areas requiring further research
  • develops and executes test plans, collects test results, performs data analysis, and presents findings
  • authors technical reports presenting research results clearly and logically
