Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • Eight or more years of experience managing production, operations, or engineering
  • US citizenship with ability to obtain and maintain Secret Clearance
  • In-depth knowledge of electronics assembly processes including SMT, through-hole, cable fabrication, and box build
  • Familiarity with IPC standards IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001
  • Experience in change management
  • Experience implementing KPIs and SIOP processes
  • Experience in product transition environment
  • Experience coordinating work with engineering, quality, supply chain, procurement, program management, and customers
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft, data analysis, and scheduling tools
  • Self-motivated and results-driven attitude

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a technical field
  • Eight or more years of experience managing production, operations, or engineering teams
  • In-depth understanding of electronics assembly including SMT, through-hole, cable fabrication, and box build
  • Familiarity with IPC standards such as IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001
  • Experience in change management and implementing actionable KPIs
  • Skilled in SIOP process implementation
  • Experience in product transition from development to full-rate production
  • Strong knowledge of coordinating with engineering, quality, supply chain, procurement, and project management
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Proficient with Microsoft, data analysis, and scheduling tools
  • Self-motivated with a proactive attitude
  • Preferred: MBA degree
  • PMP certification
  • Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt
  • Experience leading Kaizen and Six Sigma projects
  • Knowledge of cost accounting and P&L analysis
  • Experience managing production labs, shipping/receiving, and inventory
  • Experienced with MES, ERP, and PLM systems
  • Experience starting new technical teams

Job Duties

  • Direct and support all aspects of production work with focus on resolving bottlenecks
  • Lead and mentor operations staff including production planners, material coordinators, and quality personnel
  • Oversee suppliers including surface mount assembly contract manufacturers (CM)
  • Evaluate, qualify, and monitor supplier performance against quality, delivery, and cost metrics
  • Coordinate with CMs on capacity planning, production scheduling, and resource allocation
  • Manage first article inspections, pilot builds, and production qualification activities
  • Oversee material flow from procurement through assembly, testing, and final delivery
  • Implement continuous improvement and lean manufacturing best practices
  • Lead resolution of ad hoc production issues based on urgency and importance
  • Champion CAPEX and cost reduction initiatives
  • Develop Sales, Inventory, and Operations Planning (SIOP) process for accurate capacity planning and forecasting
  • Manage inventory levels and resource utilization efficiently
  • Lead KPI setup and production data collection and analysis
  • Partner with engineering on Design for Manufacturing (DFM) reviews to ensure producibility
  • Maintain compliance with AS9100, ITAR, and export control regulations
  • Take on additional responsibilities based on production needs
