Job Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum four years related experience
  • Minimum one year supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Working knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements
  • Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and job specific software
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Flexibility for after-hours and on-call duties

Job Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Minimum four years related experience
  • Minimum one year supervisory experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance or related preferred
  • Working knowledge of ITAR, Import Brokerage, Export Compliance, Hazmat Regulations and recordkeeping
  • Some professional certifications may be required
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications
  • Proven problem analysis and solution implementation skills
  • Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals

Job Duties

  • Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times
  • Provide responsible supervision and control for all departmental activities
  • Assist in the retention and training efforts of staff and customers
  • Conduct meetings with staff to assess overall status and discuss improvements
  • Address employee performance problems promptly in accordance with policies
  • Oversee performance statistics and review shipment documentation for accuracy
  • Compute duties, tariffs, and communicate with customs officials to resolve delays
  • Establish and revise policies and procedures for customs clearance
  • Identify areas of concern in import/export processes through monitoring and audits
  • Communicate with operations manager regarding progress and issues
  • Maintain flexible work schedule including on-call rotation
  • Participate in or supervise department projects related to responsibilities
