Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum four years related experience
- Minimum one year supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Working knowledge of relevant regulations and compliance requirements
- Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and job specific software
- Strong leadership and communication skills
- Flexibility for after-hours and on-call duties
Job Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- Minimum four years related experience
- Minimum one year supervisory experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in International Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Finance or related preferred
- Working knowledge of ITAR, Import Brokerage, Export Compliance, Hazmat Regulations and recordkeeping
- Some professional certifications may be required
- Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Office, internet, web-based and job specific software applications
- Proven problem analysis and solution implementation skills
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations
- Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Job Duties
- Develop and provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers at all times
- Provide responsible supervision and control for all departmental activities
- Assist in the retention and training efforts of staff and customers
- Conduct meetings with staff to assess overall status and discuss improvements
- Address employee performance problems promptly in accordance with policies
- Oversee performance statistics and review shipment documentation for accuracy
- Compute duties, tariffs, and communicate with customs officials to resolve delays
- Establish and revise policies and procedures for customs clearance
- Identify areas of concern in import/export processes through monitoring and audits
- Communicate with operations manager regarding progress and issues
- Maintain flexible work schedule including on-call rotation
- Participate in or supervise department projects related to responsibilities
