Job Requirements
- High school diploma
- two or more years prior experience as a Traffic Monitoring Operator or related field
- ability to pass State and Federal criminal history/security check
- ability to pass pre-employment drug screen
- ability to remain in stationary position for long periods
- ability to operate computer and monitoring equipment constantly
- willingness to demonstrate positive customer service attitude
- ability to manage tasks professionally
- demonstrated professional maturity
- knowledge of State Routes and Interstates
- willingness to be on call 24/7 and respond to after-hours call outs
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma plus two or more years prior experience as a Traffic Monitoring Operator or related experience, ability to pass State and Federal criminal history/security check, ability to pass pre-employment drug screen, capability to remain stationary monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems and communication channels, proficiency in operating computers and monitoring equipment, positive customer service attitude, ability to manage tasks professionally, demonstrated professional maturity, effective time and task management skills, knowledge of State Routes and Interstates throughout the State
Job Duties
- Directly oversee the operations of TMC to ensure appropriate staffing levels, ensure incident management and customer service functions are met, perform monthly audits on Operator incidents, monitor performance metrics for call handling and data accuracy, create and oversee shift schedules, ensure employee timekeeping accuracy, perform quarterly staff performance reviews and coach staff, assist with special task assignments, serve as TMC Liaison with Department staff for emergency incidents, adhere to and uphold CHAMP and TMC operations SOPs and manuals, promote positive morale in the dispatch center, interact with trainers to improve operations performance, perform all TMC and Dispatch duties, collaborate with Emergency Operations Center personnel during emergencies, undertake periodic retraining and performance evaluation, support emergency operations during severe weather, support special events with high traffic, coordinate staff schedules to maintain optimal staffing, oversee training on TMC operations and ATMS software, review and provide feedback on operational SOPs and manuals, ensure proper staff transitions and participation in daily briefings, perform ad-hoc initiatives as assigned by Project Management Team
