Job Requirements
- Valid Texas Class A CDL license for route and swing drivers
- previous commercial driving experience
- valid Texas driver's license
- familiarity with GPS devices
- ability to perform physically demanding work daily
- ability to work in extreme weather conditions
- ability to read and understand English
- ability to perform basic math and write legibly
- ability to stand and walk for extended periods
- ability to pull or push loads up to 100 lbs
- off premise and transfer drivers must lift up to 55 lbs regularly
- on premise drivers must lift up to 165 lbs regularly
- ability to tolerate inside and outside ambient extreme temperatures
- ability to work in noisy and crowded environments
- regular driving during the workday
- bending, stooping, squatting, kneeling, crouching, crawling, climbing ladders and stairs frequently
- ability to use a personal computer for communication and documentation
- ability to speak, hear, and see for communication and vehicle operation
- hand-eye coordination for operating machinery and computers
- must maintain a current valid driver’s license
- ability to comply with company policies including safety
- must maintain regular and punctual attendance
Job Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent certificate preferred
- previous distribution business experience preferred
- previous intrastate driving experience preferred
- good communication skills
- prior beer, spirits, or consumer packaged goods industry experience preferred
- previous retail or customer service experience preferred
- experience in physically demanding work preferred
Job Duties
- Drives assigned off premise or on premise route delivering product to customers in a safe and timely manner
- completes deliveries to all scheduled accounts according to delivery service guidelines complying with federal, state, and local regulations
- unloads, loads, and moves product using appropriate equipment while maintaining clean and organized work areas
- stocks windows, cold boxes, coolers, hot shelves, and displays efficiently
- rotates product to maintain quality standards
- adheres to company service guidelines and swap and drop procedures
- maintains delivery documentation and submits reports on delivery information, damaged products, returns, and inventory control
- maintains company equipment and vehicles
- validates and completes customer order delivery
- checks product order accuracy with customers
- collects payments and obtains signatures when necessary
- manages inventory and merchandising tasks in customer accounts
- provides direction to delivery assistants ensuring proper product handling and customer service
- communicates effectively with sales and delivery management teams
- leads hometown delivery drivers and assistants by providing guidance and training
- conducts pre and post-trip vehicle inspections
- adheres to driving and safety regulations
- performs all duties professionally and courteously
