Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Approach all encounters with guests and employees in a friendly, service oriented manner
  • Maintain regular attendance in compliance with Aimbridge Hospitality standards, as required by scheduling
  • Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and name tag
  • Comply at all times with Aimbridge Hospitality standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations
  • Comply with certification requirements including Food Handlers, Alcohol Awareness, CPR and First Aid
  • Prepare schedules and wage progress reports for all banquet employees
  • Prepare payroll and tip distribution for the banquet department
  • Assist in the setup, service and breakdown of banquet functions
  • Coordinate all banquet related food and beverage requirements with the appropriate departments
  • Keep kitchen informed of accurate counts for plating
  • Recruit, hire, train and evaluate all banquet personnel with assistance from Food and Beverage Manager
  • Review menu and service with Catering Manager and Food Production Manager
  • Maintain up to date details on banquet functions and communicate to supervisors
  • Responsible for ongoing training of captains and hourly employees to maintain service standards
  • Respond to guests' requests as needed
  • Prepare banquet checks, obtain guest signatures and inform client of payment procedures post function
  • Notify Banquets Director and F&B Manager of materials and equipment needing ordering or replacement
  • Requisition liquor and supplies for banquet bars
  • Responsible for safety, sanitation, and cleanliness of service areas
  • Manage loss prevention programs among service employees
  • Attend weekly Food & Beverage meetings for proper departmental communication
  • Participate in MOD coverage as scheduled
  • Conduct menu classes as necessary
  • Attend daily BEO meetings
  • Promote open communication with managers, employees and departments
  • Ensure pre-meal meetings are conducted for all functions
  • Control and audit alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages
  • Review banquet staff hours for payroll and submit timely to accounting
  • Supervise banquet captains and service personnel
  • Assist Banquets Director and Catering Manager with special promotions
  • Control and maintain all service equipment and submit service requests
  • Cross train as manager/supervisor in other F&B outlets
  • Assist audio/visual company when needed
  • Be familiar with POS system operation
  • Correct hazards and notify management
  • Submit supply orders to management and maintain inventory
  • Handle lost and found items
  • Perform other duties as requested by Banquets Director or General Manager
  • Access back of house areas and sensitive information responsibly
  • Handle cash, prepare deposits, secure and balance bank
  • Interact with guests and colleagues, sometimes unsupervised
  • Control access to sensitive hotel areas including master keys and secured cabinets
