Job Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent preferred
- Bartending work experience required
- Guest relations and service experience preferred
- Food service sanitation certification required
- Alcohol service permit if state required
- CPR and first aid certification preferred
Job Qualifications
- Basic knowledge of food and beverage preparation and service of various alcoholic beverages
- Basic mathematical skills to operate cash register, make change, total guest checks, count total bank, prepare cash drops, total charges, and understand portion sizes
- Basic English writing skills to complete requisitions, balance sheets and vouchers
- Manual dexterity to use knife for garnish, pick up glassware and bottles, scoop ice, mix drinks, and reach overhead for stock
- Ability to read, speak and understand English to communicate with guests and take orders
- Ability to remember, recite and promote menu items
- Ability to operate keyboard and point of sale procedures to pre-check and close out orders
- Ability to stand and work in confined spaces for long periods
Job Duties
- Maintain proper and adequate bar setup daily including requisitioning and stocking beer, wine, spirits, paper products, straws and stirrers, condiments and produce based on daily projections
- Maintain stock, cut, and store fresh fruit and vegetable garnishes, juices and perishables daily to ensure product quality
- Greet guests courteously, promote and document drink orders, mix, garnish and present drinks using standard recipes with portion control
- Check guests for proper identification and act on guest inebriation as trained while demonstrating knowledge of liquor laws
- Input orders into register, create checks for each guest and personnel, maintain accountability of beverages served
- Receive cash, make change, verify charges, record charges, ensure proper execution of vouchers to balance money
- Lock up and store beverages, food and equipment, deposit cash drops, and secure bank
- Attend mandatory meetings
- Perform general cleaning tasks to adhere to health and safety standards
- Keep work area clean and organized
- Complete other duties as assigned such as assisting security with disorderly guests
- Adhere to all state, federal and corporate liquor regulations pertaining to serving alcoholic beverages to minors and intoxicated guests
