Job Requirements

  • must be able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, holidays
  • active engagement in picking up and working shifts at least once every four weeks
  • reliable and prompt attendance when scheduled
  • ability to handle cash and accurately operate register
  • physically capable of lifting up to 44 pounds and standing or mobile for the duration of shifts
  • ability to adapt to varying temperatures while performing job duties
  • willingness to respond to communication attempts from leadership
  • participation in required onboarding and training
  • legal eligibility to work in the united states

Job Qualifications

  • high school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous retail or customer service experience a plus but not required
  • effective communication skills including positive language and attentiveness
  • ability to multitask and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
  • welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
  • basic technology skills including operating handheld scanners and communication devices
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • knowledge of or willingness to learn about loyalty programs and digital tools

Job Duties

  • demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by greeting guests while completing daily tasks
  • engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
  • be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to improve the guest experience
  • scan and bag guest items efficiently and accurately
  • minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • promote and assist with Target loyalty programs and digital services
  • manage order pick-up, drive-up, and registry guest services
  • maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
  • support cash office processes as needed
  • work safely and comply with safety policies
  • handle cash register operations accurately
  • lift and move merchandise safely
  • pick up shifts flexibly, including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • comply with all Target policies and procedures
