Job Requirements
- ability to work a flexible schedule with varying hours, days, or shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- reliable and punctual with a commitment to work at least one shift every four weeks
- capability to remain mobile and stand for the duration of a scheduled shift
- physically able to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds occasionally without assistance
- ability to handle cash transactions accurately and follow company policies
- ability to respond promptly to communication attempts
- willingness to comply with safety policies and take initiative in reporting and correcting hazards
- exposure to varying temperatures and environmental conditions during job duties
Job Qualifications
- high school diploma or equivalent preferred
- previous retail or customer service experience is a plus but not mandatory
- effective communication skills including using positive language
- ability to remain focused and composed in a fast-paced environment
- welcoming and helpful attitude toward guests and team members
- attention to detail while multitasking
- ability to educate guests and engage around products and services
- competence in operating handheld scanners and other technology equipment
- ability to work both independently and collaboratively with a team
Job Duties
- demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
- create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you are completing your daily tasks
- engage with guests in a welcoming way to help solve their specific needs
- be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the store to solve issues and improve their experience
- scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately and in compliance with food safety standards
- minimize guest wait time while maintaining guest service and accuracy
- promote and engage around Target Loyalty programs and assist with application or sign-up
- support guest services such as order pick up and Drive-Up orders
- maintain a clean, clutter free work area
- comply with safety policies and report hazards
- handle cash register operations and support cash office as needed
- lift and move merchandise safely
- work flexible hours including nights, weekends, holidays
- pick up and work shifts actively to maintain employment status
- communicate effectively and use technology equipment as directed
- work independently and as part of a team
- de-escalate situations and recover guest experience as needed
