Job Requirements

  • Be at least 16 years of age
  • legally authorized to work in the United States
  • ability to communicate effectively in English or Spanish
  • availability to pick up shifts regularly every 4 weeks via myTime mobile app
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • ability to perform physical tasks including lifting up to 44 pounds
  • capability to work in varying environmental conditions such as temperature and humidity
  • willingness to attend Target Welcome orientation and required training
  • active engagement by responding to contact attempts and working shifts
  • ability to operate handheld scanners and technology devices as directed
  • adherence to safety and company policies
  • flexible availability especially during busy times

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • previous retail or customer service experience is a plus
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to multitask effectively
  • knowledge of basic technology and mobile apps
  • ability to work independently and as part of a team

  • ability to handle cash register operations accurately

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by authentically greeting all guests
  • observe to quickly understand whether a guest needs assistance or wants to interact
  • engage with guests in a genuine way, including asking questions to better understand their specific needs
  • be knowledgeable about the tools, products, and services available in the total store to solve issues and improve guest experience
  • thank the guest genuinely and let them know we appreciate their business
  • scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards
  • work efficiently to minimize guest wait time
  • promote current and upcoming brand launches, store activities, and events
  • assist guests with Target Loyalty programs, applications, and sign-ups
  • explain and demonstrate the use of Wallet and Target App features
  • handle returns and follow register prompts
  • partner with leaders to de-escalate negative situations and recover guest experiences
  • deliver easy and accurate service for order pick-up, Drive Up, and Registry guests
  • maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
  • demonstrate a culture of ethical conduct, safety, and compliance
  • work safely to benefit self and others
  • support guest services such as order pick up and Drive-up orders
  • assist with Cash Office processes including cash management
  • perform other duties as needed based on business requirements
