Job Requirements

  • Ability to work flexible hours including nights, weekends, and holidays
  • reliable and prompt attendance
  • able to lift or move merchandise up to 44 pounds occasionally and up to 10 pounds frequently
  • capability to remain mobile and work in varying temperatures
  • active engagement in picking up shifts at least once a month with response to management communications
  • successful completion of Target Welcome orientation and training
  • compliance with safety, ethical, and store policies
  • basic proficiency with mobile scheduling app and technology
  • legal eligibility to work in the United States

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred
  • prior retail or customer service experience beneficial but not required
  • strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • ability to operate handheld scanning and cash register equipment
  • problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • capacity to work independently and within a team environment
  • adaptability to various guest interactions and situations
  • basic knowledge of digital services and mobile apps
  • willingness to learn and engage with guests about products and services

Job Duties

  • Demonstrate a service culture that prioritizes the guest service experience by delivering the service standard
  • create a welcoming experience by greeting guests as you perform daily tasks
  • engage with guests to help solve their specific needs
  • be knowledgeable about store tools, products, and services to improve guest experience
  • scan and bag guest items efficiently, accurately, and in compliance with food safety standards
  • minimize guest wait time while maintaining service and accuracy
  • promote Target Loyalty programs and assist guests with enrollment
  • support order pick up, drive-up, and gift registry services
  • maintain a clean and clutter-free work area
  • comply with safety policies and report hazards
  • assist with cash office operations as needed
  • support compliance with federal, state, and local laws during transactions
  • perform other duties based on business needs
