Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Previous experience in banquet or food service preferred
  • Ability to engage with guests in a friendly and professional manner
  • Knowledge of food safety standards
  • Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and work well in a team environment
  • Physically able to stand for extended periods and carry moderate weight
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new tasks and environments

  • Track record of delivering exceptional guest or client experience
  • Strong communication skills
  • Appropriate professional appearance and demeanor
  • Understanding of basic room diagrams for station setups and seating charts
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group environments
  • Available for various shifts including early morning, late nights, double shifts, occasional triple shifts, occasional split shifts, weekends, holidays, and long hours

Job Duties

  • Maintain pleasant personality and demeanor throughout the function
  • Provide food service for banquet events in accordance with hotel and banquet standards
  • Setup action stations, cook (ie: simmer, brown, saute), Serve patrons at action stations in accordance with head chef plate presentation and garnishes
  • Setup banquet buffet displays both hot and cold in allotted time
  • Maintain food levels at those displays
  • Engage guest(s) at banquet events in order to determine food allergies, preferences, and dietary needs and report those needs to the proper banquet captain(s)
  • Use proper coffee brewing and tea brewing techniques
  • Be familiar with seating positions for plated events and proper serving techniques for food placement during synchronized service
  • Complete all daily side duties, post function cleanup, organization, and deep cleaning of affected work areas
  • Report to all necessary pre-shift and post-shift meetings with banquet leadership
  • Report to banquet leadership for inspection of completed work responsibilities before leaving the hotel property
  • Store all banquet and hotel equipment used in an orderly and clean fashion as instructed by banquet leadership
  • Deliver passionate and engaging service to guests by warmly greeting, using eye and ear contact, establishing and anticipating needs, solving and owning requests or complaints, and thanking everyone
  • Build solid relationships with colleagues by treating them with respect, balancing team and individual responsibilities, exhibiting openness, building morale, and supporting collective success
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned, including assisting in other hotel areas as needed
