Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Be able to speak fluently in English
- Ability to interact calmly and professionally with staff, visitors, and residents in person and over the phone
- Ability to handle emergency and stressful situations positively
- Enjoy contact with and have compassion for seniors
- Present self neatly and professionally
- Capable of using good judgment and acting independently with minimal supervision
- Ability to operate telephone systems, intercoms, door opening systems, and sort postal deliveries as needed
- Ability to fully understand and operate facility fire panels and CCTV security systems
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Must clear fingerprints through DOJ and FBI and pass a drug screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalency
- Experience in a field requiring contact with the public highly desired
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Good communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to speak fluently in English
- Ability to operate telephone systems, intercoms, door opening systems, fire panels, and CCTV security systems
- Ability to promote a positive and professional image of the facility
- Ability to remain calm and professional during emergencies
Job Duties
- Monitor all security doors and gates leading into facility and garage
- Maintain security of building at all times
- Interact with and implement security instructions from Facilities Manager
- Understand and operate all emergency and security alarm systems, intercoms, and telephone systems
- Attend required training for emergency alarm and communication systems
- Coordinate training of other staff on emergency systems as requested
- Utilize emergency telephone, pager, and disaster contact lists, policies, and procedures
- Ensure radio contact at all times between different facility locations
- Perform radio checks with facilities and security personnel
- Report problems to Facilities Manager promptly
- Process resident requests for services, repairs, food trays, and emergency help
