Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • must possess CPR and First Aid certification
  • must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
  • must be fluent in English
  • must be able to remain calm and professional in emergency and stressful situations
  • must enjoy contact with and have compassion for seniors
  • must present self in a neat, well-dressed, and well-groomed manner
  • must be able to promote and maintain a positive and professional image of St. Paul's
  • must be capable of working independently with minimal supervision
  • must be able to operate telephone systems, intercoms, door opening systems, postal sorting
  • must fully understand and operate facility fire panels and CCTV security systems
  • must clear fingerprint background check through DOJ and FBI
  • must pass drug screening

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR and First Aid certification
  • experience in a field requiring public contact
  • good communication skills both verbal and written
  • ability to speak fluent English
  • ability to handle emergency and stressful situations calmly
  • compassion for seniors
  • well-groomed and professional appearance
  • ability to promote a positive and professional image
  • capability to act independently with little supervision
  • proficiency in operating telephone systems, intercoms, door opening systems, fire panels, CCTV security systems
  • strong judgment and professionalism

Job Duties

  • Monitor all security doors and gates leading into facility and garage
  • maintain security of building at all times
  • interact with and implement security instructions from Facilities Manager
  • understand and operate all emergency and security alarm systems, intercom systems, and telephone systems
  • attend required training and coordinate training of other staff on emergency systems as needed
  • utilize emergency telephone, pager, and disaster contact lists, policies and procedures
  • ensure radio contact between facilities and security personnel and perform radio checks
  • report problems promptly to Facilities Manager
  • process requests made by residents for service, repairs, food trays, and emergency help
