Job Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check acceptable to GSCO standards
- Must be able to work non-traditional hours including early mornings, evenings, and/or weekends
- Must possess or be willing to obtain current SERV Safe Certification
- Must possess or be willing to obtain current First Aid/CPR certification
- Must be able to pass a criminal background check
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must regularly stand for extended periods
- Must have interpersonal skills to work with people of diverse backgrounds
- Must comply with all CDPHE Food Regulations
- Must live by the Girl Scout Promise and Law
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- One year certificate from college or technical school preferred
- Minimum three months food preparation and/or line cook experience preferred
- Willingness to obtain SERV Safe Certification
- Willingness to obtain First Aid/CPR certification
- Experience in an industrial kitchen preferred
- Prior experience cooking and serving 50-310 people per day preferred
- Experience with restricted diets and food allergies highly preferred
- Proficient understanding of sanitation and workplace safety regulations
- Basic understanding of nutrition guidelines and food handling techniques
- Knowledge of food allergies and related diseases
- Ability to comply with food safety and temperature standards
- Knowledge of safe use of cleaning supplies and kitchen equipment
- Ability to read and interpret SDS sheets
- Basic math skills including measurement conversions
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work quickly and efficiently
- Ability to work well as part of a team
- Ability to work under pressure
- Ability to maintain personal cleanliness
Job Duties
- Assist Chef/Cook to prepare meals as scheduled for 50-310 people per meal
- Assist in the preparation of all meals for camp
- Properly measure ingredients and assemble them according to Chef/Cook specifications
- Wash, peel and prepare raw food products
- Cut and portion different types of meat
- Portion food and prepare dishes and ingredients for serving
- Breakdown workstation and complete closing duties
- Ensure leftover food is stored properly
- Work closely with Chef/Cook and Dishwasher to provide support during shifts
- Test temperature of foods and perform daily temperature checks for coolers and products
- Clean, organize and maintain refrigerators, coolers, and dry storage areas
- Restock items as needed and keep track of ingredient quantities
- Manage special food requirements like allergies, gluten free, and vegetarian diets with 100% accuracy
- Assist Chef/Cook in providing weekend staff food items
- Prepare and deliver timely pack-out/travel food
- Act as Chef/Cook in absence of Chef/Cook only as directed
- Maintain kitchen cleanliness and comply with health department codes
- Sanitize kitchen surfaces and assist in deep cleaning
- Wash hands according to health regulations
- Keep stock rooms, coolers and freezers clean and organized
- Check incoming food supply orders for accuracy and storage
- Assist with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients
- Assist Kitchen Manager or Chef/Cook with inventory requests
- Report any accidents or injuries
- Manage timecards and interact with digital systems
- Respect confidentiality of information
- Live by the Girl Scout Promise and Law
- Perform other duties as assigned
