Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • valid food handler’s certification or ability to obtain within two weeks from date of hire
  • current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire
  • valid driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation required
  • CPR certified or ability to obtain within 18 months from date of hire
  • ability to repetitively move 25lbs regularly and up to 50lbs
  • ability to ascend stairs and move around on city sidewalks
  • ability to perform general office equipment tasks
  • ability to pass Meals on Wheels People pre-employment screening

Job Qualifications

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • valid Food Handler’s Certification or ability to obtain within two weeks from date of hire

  • valid driver’s license, auto insurance, and transportation required
  • CPR certified or ability to obtain within 18 months from date of hire
  • proven experience to effectively manage, engage and retain volunteers
  • bilingual/bicultural English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Asian or African languages strongly preferred
  • excellent organizational, record keeping, time management and multi-tasking skills
  • ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with diverse populations including minority, low income and persons with disabilities
  • strong ability to problem solve and implement solutions
  • proficient in computer applications and MS Office suite
  • ability to quickly learn new computer programs
  • experience with client data management systems a plus

Job Duties

  • Manage on-time delivery of meals to home-bound participants following all standards developed by Meals on Wheels People
  • schedule volunteer drivers for each route daily
  • maintain route books with accurate delivery information on MOW participants and make adjustments as needed
  • follow up with home delivery participant if the driver is unable to deliver the meal
  • responsible for home delivery participant care including reassessments, change of condition tracking, and record maintenance
  • perform Meals on Wheels delivery duties for routes lacking volunteer coverage
  • assist Site Manager with responsive hunger relief services including supplemental meals, meal services for partnerships, ethnic meals, and programming in response to isolation
  • assist in screening, registration, and training of volunteers
  • maintain and update client and volunteer information
  • complete all required administrative tasks as assigned
  • support agency-wide events and fundraising initiatives
  • participate in in-service training and attend required meetings
  • support mission, vision, values and strategic plan of Meals on Wheels People
  • perform other duties as assigned
