Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- valid food handler’s certification or ability to obtain within two weeks from date of hire
- current ServSafe certification or ability to obtain within 18 months of hire
- valid driver’s license, auto insurance and transportation required
- CPR certified or ability to obtain within 18 months from date of hire
- ability to repetitively move 25lbs regularly and up to 50lbs
- ability to ascend stairs and move around on city sidewalks
- ability to perform general office equipment tasks
- ability to pass Meals on Wheels People pre-employment screening
Job Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent

- CPR certified or ability to obtain within 18 months from date of hire
- proven experience to effectively manage, engage and retain volunteers
- bilingual/bicultural English/Spanish, Vietnamese, Russian, Asian or African languages strongly preferred
- excellent organizational, record keeping, time management and multi-tasking skills
- ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with diverse populations including minority, low income and persons with disabilities
- strong ability to problem solve and implement solutions
- proficient in computer applications and MS Office suite
- ability to quickly learn new computer programs
- experience with client data management systems a plus
Job Duties
- Manage on-time delivery of meals to home-bound participants following all standards developed by Meals on Wheels People
- schedule volunteer drivers for each route daily
- maintain route books with accurate delivery information on MOW participants and make adjustments as needed
- follow up with home delivery participant if the driver is unable to deliver the meal
- responsible for home delivery participant care including reassessments, change of condition tracking, and record maintenance
- perform Meals on Wheels delivery duties for routes lacking volunteer coverage
- assist Site Manager with responsive hunger relief services including supplemental meals, meal services for partnerships, ethnic meals, and programming in response to isolation
- assist in screening, registration, and training of volunteers
- maintain and update client and volunteer information
- complete all required administrative tasks as assigned
- support agency-wide events and fundraising initiatives
- participate in in-service training and attend required meetings
- support mission, vision, values and strategic plan of Meals on Wheels People
- perform other duties as assigned
