Job Requirements
- Ability to work in a high volume, fast paced kitchen environment
- Kitchen organizational skills
- Ability to compose and refine accurate prep lists and order guides for weekly menus and catering
- Ability to foster a collaborative and uplifting team environment
- Exceptional knife skills
- Basic computer knowledge including email, Google Sheets and Docs, Word, Excel, Slack
- Ability to use sound judgement and objectively assess situations
- Able to work in a standing position for extended periods
- Ability to reach, bend, stoop and lift up to 50 pounds
- This is an hourly position with a pay range of $28.00 - $33.00 per hour
Job Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in varied kitchen leadership positions
- At least 3 years experience in a similar capacity
- Proficient in verbal, written, and digital communication
- Ability to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, dining room staff, and guests
- Demonstrated excellence in guest service with reliability, consistency, and courtesy
Job Duties
- Create weekly cost-efficient menus that are seasonally inspired and broadly appealing
- Provide input and support for chefs and line cooks in preparing and serving from-scratch, weekly changing menus at high volume
- Consult and provide input and feedback for kitchen personnel as appropriate
- Schedule, evaluate, and provide constructive feedback to kitchen personnel
- Provide continued training to cafe employees in safety, cleanliness and sanitation, food preparation, and guest services
- Order, receive, and store all necessary food and kitchen supplies according to budget and procedures
- Manage cost containment through effective ordering, menu selection, and product utilization
- Monitor and maintain proper food handling, refrigeration temperatures, and hazardous materials protocols
- Attend weekly menu planning meetings with the Chef Team
- Pursue continued education to enhance professional knowledge and management skills
- Perform ad hoc requirements as necessary
