Job Requirements
- high school diploma or equivalent
- minimum of 5 years experience in kitchen leadership roles
- ability to work in a high volume, fast paced kitchen environment
- strong kitchen organizational skills
- exceptional knife skills
- proficiency in basic computer applications including email, Google Sheets, Docs, Word, Excel, and Slack
- ability to work standing for extended periods
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently
- effective communication skills
- ability to use sound judgement
- availability to work up to 40 hours weekly in an hourly position
Job Qualifications
- minimum of 5 years experience in varied kitchen leadership positions
- at least 3 years experience in a similar capacity
- proficient in verbal, written, and digital communication
- able to communicate clearly with managers, kitchen, dining room staff, and guests
- demonstrated excellence in guest service skills including reliability, consistency, and courteousness
Job Duties
- create weekly cost-efficient menus that are seasonally inspired and broadly appealing
- provide input and support for chefs and line cooks preparing and serving food for weekly changing menus
- consult and provide feedback for kitchen personnel
- schedule, evaluate, and give constructive feedback to kitchen personnel
- train cafe employees in safety, cleanliness, sanitation, food preparation, and guest services
- order, receive, and store food and kitchen supplies according to cafe needs and budget
- manage cost containment through ordering, menu selection, and product utilization
- check and maintain food handling and refrigeration temperature control
- attend weekly menu planning meetings with chef team
- pursue continued education to enhance professional knowledge and management skills
- perform ad hoc requirements as necessary
