Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years cooking experience preferred
- Food Handlers Certificate required within three months
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must pass First Aid certification course before employment
- Must pass CPR certification within six weeks
- Must pass Bloodborne Pathogens and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification within three months
- Must maintain certifications throughout employment
- Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- Two years experience cooking for and serving large groups preferred
- School lunch experience preferred
- Food Handlers Certification required within three months of employment
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must pass First Aid certification before employment start
- Must pass CPR within first six weeks of employment
- Must pass Bloodborne Pathogens and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification within three months
- Must maintain TCI, CPR, First Aid and BBP Certifications
- Must complete online Mandated Reporter Training within first week of employment
Job Duties
- Plan, prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals for children under direction of Kitchen Supervisor
- Utilize production worksheets to determine ingredient quantities for menu items
- Adhere to recipe measurements and cooking methods to meet nutrition requirements
- Store food supplies securely and maintain kitchen sanitation according to Title 22 standards
- Provide supervision and guidance to children assisting in meal preparation
- Assist Kitchen Supervisor with ordering food and supplies
- Attend staff training and meetings as required
