Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years cooking experience preferred
  • Food Handlers Certificate required within three months
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must pass First Aid certification course before employment
  • Must pass CPR certification within six weeks
  • Must pass Bloodborne Pathogens and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification within three months
  • Must maintain certifications throughout employment
  • Ability to work varied hours including nights, weekends and holidays

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Two years experience cooking for and serving large groups preferred
  • School lunch experience preferred
  • Food Handlers Certification required within three months of employment
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must pass First Aid certification before employment start
  • Must pass CPR within first six weeks of employment
  • Must pass Bloodborne Pathogens and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention certification within three months
  • Must maintain TCI, CPR, First Aid and BBP Certifications
  • Must complete online Mandated Reporter Training within first week of employment

Job Duties

  • Plan, prepare and serve nutritionally balanced meals for children under direction of Kitchen Supervisor
  • Utilize production worksheets to determine ingredient quantities for menu items
  • Adhere to recipe measurements and cooking methods to meet nutrition requirements
  • Store food supplies securely and maintain kitchen sanitation according to Title 22 standards
  • Provide supervision and guidance to children assisting in meal preparation
  • Assist Kitchen Supervisor with ordering food and supplies
  • Attend staff training and meetings as required
