Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- prior experience in banquet or food service preferred
- ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently
- ability to stand, walk, and ascend/descend stairs throughout shifts
- ability to perform physical tasks such as reaching, twisting, pulling, bending, and stooping
- ability to move throughout the hotel and banquet areas for the duration of the shift
- strong customer service orientation
- valid legal authorization to work in the location
- willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
Job Qualifications
- Ability to effectively understand and communicate in English with guests and staff
- knowledge of guest service with food service experience, preferably banquet service
- familiarity with wine, beer, cocktails, and spirits preferred
- ability to adapt to changing demands and priorities in a fast-paced environment
- strong teamwork and communication skills
- attention to detail in food and beverage service
- previous experience in hospitality or banquet settings preferred
Job Duties
- Set up banquet rooms including draping tables, setting silverware, folding napkins, preparing drinks, and arranging table centerpieces
- serve food and beverages to guests by picking up food from back hall, carrying trays to function location, and clearing food from tables
- break down banquet rooms by bussing tables, putting away dirty linen and centerpieces, and vacuuming
- clean back hall and organize storerooms
- set up AM and PM break stations with coffee, tea, snacks, and beverages
- assist with event room setup according to meal period and table requirements
- perform food and beverage preparation duties such as preparing condiments, brewing coffee, and stocking workstations
- serve food and beverages to guests and remove dishes, glasses, silverware from tables and counter tops
- clean and sanitize tables, counters, and seats after guests finish
- explain menu items including preparation, cooking methods, and ingredients
- accommodate special requests and dietary needs of guests
- provide general property information and warm welcome and farewell to guests
- interact professionally with staff and assist other departments with necessary information
- ensure quality checks of food and beverage items before serving
- monitor assigned tables for customer satisfaction and additional service
- promptly address guest issues
- assist other event and restaurant staff as needed
- maintain constant awareness of safety issues throughout the property
