Job Requirements

  • Minimum two years experience as a bartender in an upscale or fine dining establishment
  • Fluency in the English language
  • Professional appearance and demeanor
  • Thorough knowledge of proper service
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills
  • High energy, flexible and adaptable
  • Experience with food and beverage point-of-sale systems, preferably Micros
  • Ability to work under pressure and in a team environment
  • Ability to multitask
  • Ability to work without constant, direct supervision
  • Ability to exercise patience and diplomacy
  • Ability to provide service efficiently while conveying a warm and friendly demeanor

Job Duties

  • Offer guests in the restaurants an enjoyable, expertly served beverage/dining experience
  • Dispense, serve, and/or mix all beverages in a timely and efficient manner
  • Present cocktails, beer and wine drinks in an elegant manner
  • Engage with and anticipate the needs of guests
  • Ascertain guests' satisfaction and attempt to handle guest issues, notifying manager when necessary
  • Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner
  • Complete opening and closing side work as assigned and have all tables set according to standard
  • Present menus and explanations for all menu items as well as specials of the day
  • Utilize the point-of-sale system to print and close checks, and handle cash transactions according to OVI protocols
  • Responsible for proper cash handling procedures and bank reconciliation, properly process daily reports
  • Ensure cleanliness throughout the shift of the bar and restaurant areas
