Job Requirements

  • Hold a valid food handler certification
  • Able to stand for 6-9 hours at a time
  • Demonstrate teamwork orientation
  • Be punctual
  • Have previous kitchen experience in similar roles

Job Qualifications

  • Food handler certification
  • Experience in a fast-paced kitchen environment
  • Proven leadership skills with previous supervisory or sous chef experience
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation standards
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Ability to guide and train junior kitchen staff
  • Familiarity with inventory management and ordering processes

Job Duties

  • Lead kitchen team in Executive Chef's absence
  • Provide guidance to junior kitchen staff on line cooking, food preparation, and dish plating
  • Oversee and organize kitchen stock and ingredients
  • Ensure first-in, first-out food rotation system and proper product dating
  • Keep cooking stations stocked before and during prime hours
  • Hire and train new kitchen employees to standards
  • Manage food and product ordering while minimizing waste
  • Supervise all food preparation and presentation to ensure quality
  • Assist head chef with menu creation
  • Coordinate with restaurant management on supply ordering, budgeting, kitchen efficiency, and staffing
