Job Requirements

  • Associate's degree
  • 0-1 year of progressive work experience
  • Ability to handle front desk and customer service duties
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and multitask
  • Competence in using office software including Microsoft Office and Google Suite
  • Accuracy in data entry and record maintenance
  • Willingness to manage mail and monetary transactions
  • Ability to handle confidential information appropriately

Job Qualifications

  • Associate's degree, preferably in Business
  • 0-1 year of progressive work experience in Business Office Communications or equivalent
  • Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Knowledge of proper phone etiquette
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Knowledge of accurate record-keeping
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Google Suite
  • Experience in data entry and database systems
  • Understanding of the agency's divisions and programs

Job Duties

  • Manages day-to-day operations of the Front Desk Department
  • Reviews all incoming correspondence, documents, applications, initiates replies as appropriate, routes matters requiring action by staff
  • Assists staff with mass mailings and completes special projects for department managers
  • Ensures outgoing mail has proper documentation, processes and reviews returned mail, maintains office supply inventory
  • Receives and redirects incoming phone calls, takes messages, assists WRS members, contractors, and the public
  • Provides customer service and answers questions about departmental services and functions
  • Ensures front desk coverage at all times and assists all walk-ins
  • Asks clarifying questions to ensure correct routing and handles customer complaints
  • Edits and changes member information, verifies account modifications
  • Enters checks into receipt log, assists Employer Relations with deposits and transactions, reviews transactions for accuracy
