Job Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • One year of general office experience or any satisfactory combination of work, education, training relevant to the position
  • Ability to pass a criminal history background check
  • Availability to work full-time on-site with a typical schedule Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Authorization to work in the United States
  • Willingness to work overtime as needed
  • Ability to meet physical requirements including sitting for extended periods and manual dexterity

Job Qualifications

  • Graduation from high school or equivalent
  • One year of general office experience or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Knowledge of office practices, procedures and techniques
  • Proficiency in a variety of computer systems and software including MS Office
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to provide courteous and professional assistance to clients and staff
  • Ability to perform data entry accurately
  • Ability to conduct background checks and operate office equipment
  • Skills to keyboard effectively and follow directions accurately

Job Duties

  • Act as the primary receptionist for the front counter of the Sheriff’s Office Administration
  • Answer multi-line telephone system, screen and distribute calls and messages as needed
  • Maintain knowledge of Sheriff's office divisions, county departments and services to route calls appropriately
  • Conduct vehicle impound releases, take in civil processes and schedule concealed handgun license appointments
  • Maintain and enter data in department computer systems including Sheriff Records Management System and Oregon E-Court
  • Conduct criminal history inquiries through LEDS/NCIC and validate protective orders
  • Create letters, correspondence, forms, and spreadsheets as needed
  • Scan incident reports into imaging system and provide copies of reports to the public
  • Provide backup coverage to other office areas and perform other duties as assigned
