  • An associate's degree or higher
  • Superior receptionist and secretary skills including computer use with Windows based programs, proper telephone etiquette, filing, and professional writing including correspondence and minutes
  • Ability to work effectively with student employees and other departments
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently as well as collaboratively as part of a team
  • Knowledge of the mission and policies of WSR and Brigham Young University
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and be flexible
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize, adapt, and work well under pressure
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills within the scope of assigned authority
  • Maintain high level of confidentiality
  • Excellent business and technical writing/editing skills
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field

Job Duties

  • Serve as the main office receptionist and provide administrative support for the WSR office
  • Provide secretary/receptionist work for Sexual Assault Survivor Services (SASS) office when needed
  • Train, supervise, and support student employees in the WSR office
  • Connect office patrons with appropriate resources and referrals
  • Manage the office budget, financial records, and reports
  • Prepare expense reports and travel authorizations
  • Reconcile the office's purchases and receipts
  • Complete office and departmental purchases as needed
  • Assist in hiring student employees and doing contract paperwork
  • Coordinate the office schedule each semester to ensure coverage
  • Assist in event evaluations and semester reports
  • Conduct staff meetings as needed
  • Assist in the planning and carrying out of WSR events
