Job Requirements
- Ability to meet attendance requirements
- ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English
- ability to sort documents alphabetically and numerically
- ability to drive a Salvation Army vehicle safely following laws and policies
- ability to perform duties primarily seated with occasional standing and walking
- ability to lift and carry light objects less than 25 pounds frequently
- work in a normal office environment with minimal physical discomfort
- valid state driver’s license
Job Qualifications
- Associates degree in Business Administration or related field
- completed certification in office management or administrative assistant
- two years of progressively responsible experience in secretarial work and receptionist duties
- experience preparing bank deposits
- ability to type and work with scheduling software
- strong communication skills
- organizational skills
- knowledge of office procedures
- proficiency with standard office software
- valid state driver’s license
Job Duties
- Answer the telephone in a courteous manner and direct calls to the appropriate destination
- record accurate and complete messages when necessary
- receive and receipt deliveries and donations
- greet and announce visitors and clients
- provide general information about The Salvation Army's operations and services
- perform routine administrative work such as accurately preparing letters, memos, and filing
- prepare checks for deposits
- prepare employment paperwork
- record and update statistical information
- sort and distribute mail
- ensure all Corps bills are forwarded to the Finance Department weekly
- assist with preparing bulk-mail
- distribute packages, office supplies and deliveries to appropriate personnel
- assist Corps officers with typing and scheduling appointments
- screen calls and take messages
- prepare employment paperwork for new hires, classification changes or terminations
- review documents for accuracy and forward to HR
- copy received donation checks and complete cover sheets
- list all checks and cash deposited and attach calculator tape for verification
- make daily bank deposits and forward to Finance Department
- perform other duties as assigned by Corps Officers
